Wabaunsee County is located in east central Kansas. It is named for Chief Waubonsie of a nearby Native American tribe.
The seat and largest city are both Alma.
The county borders Pottawatomie, Shawnee, Osage, Lyon, Morris, Geary and Riley Counties.
Main highways through the county include I-70, US-40, K-4 and K-99.
